Anchovies are small pelagic fish which feed on small crustaceans (zooplanktons). The body is vertically compressed with long snouts that overhang a large, lower opening mouth. Their dorsal surface has bluish-green and underneath silver grey. They typically grow up to 7 inches in length and weigh about 10 g.
